$1.6 billion worth of ice seized in record-breaking bust
Police have stopped more than 1800 kilograms of the drug ‘ice’ with an estimated street value of 1.6 billion dollars from coming into Sydney.
Last month Australian Border Force officers uncovered almost 750 kilos of methylamphetamine concealed within marble stone arriving in Port Botany.
Officers have detected a further tonne of the drug coming in in the same fashion.
Three men have been arrested and remain before the courts.
Three other men have been arrested after authorities discovered 160 kilograms of ice hidden inside a 1960 vintage Bentley S2 at Port Botany last month.
An x-ray revealed a few anomalies, leading to the discovery of $150 million worth of ice hidden behind the headlights.
