72-year-old business shuts its doors for the final time
Back in Ray’s traffic reporting days, he bought a red Holden Commodore from a man named Les Muir.
Muirs Automotive began in 1946 when three brothers Tony, Les and Ron Muir got their hands on a federation house in Sydney’s inner-west.
The Muirs soon got to selling quality Holdens and the Ashfield-based business went gangbusters.
Now, sadly, they’ve shut up shop after 72 years in business.
Les’ son John tells Ray all good things must come to an end.
“It was a very sad and emotional occasion.
“All good things come to a close and we have at the moment.
“Thank you for your support over the years too, Ray.”
