Andrew Bolt has weighed in on what he finds “frightening” about the terror attack on Bourke Street.

30-year-old Hassan Khalif Shire Ali launched a stabbing attack on Friday, killing one man and injuring two others.

The Somali-born man initially drove a car full of gas bottles into the entrance of Bourke Street Mall and set it on fire.

Shire Ali then went on a stabbing rampage and attacked police before he was shot.

He later died of his injuries.

It’s since come to light that Shire Ali was on ASIO’s radar, and had been since 2015.

Andrew Bolt tells Ben Fordham what he finds “frightening” about the incident.

“We’re told… our authorities could not have done more to protect us from this guy, given that there were 400 such cases they’re looking into and this was far from the most urgent.

“That should frighten people.

“For me that goes to that false hope, false assurance we’ve been given, that we can take risks elsewhere like with our refugee intake, with our immigration intake… and expect that ASIO will guard us should there be anyone of concern that slips through.

“Now we know that’s not possible.”
