Former England cricket captain Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff wants to coach his national side.

Flintoff retired from the game at just 31, with plenty of achievements to his name including 3800 Test runs and more than 200 wickets.

But the cricketing legend admits he resented the game for a few years after he stepped away.

“I still wanted to be a player,” he tells Ben Fordham.

“I still now want to be a cricketer.”

Despite the 40-year-old entering the entertainment industry, even having a go at musical theatre, he has his sights set on heading back to cricket.

And he’s got the top job on his mind.

“If there’s one job I’d love to do in the future, I’d love to coach England,” he tells Ben.

In a wide-ranging interview with Ben, Freddie weighs in on everything from the culture of Australian cricket following the ball-tampering scandal to singing with Elton John.

He’s also recalled the iconic moment he bent down to console a shattered Brett Lee in 2005.
