Firefighters rescue dog from burning block of apartments
Firefighters have rescued a small dog from a burning block of apartments in Sydney’s west.
The unit fire on the corner of Todd Street and Sherwood Road at Merrylands has been contained, but not before it caused significant damage.
The blaze started in one unit, before quickly spreading into the roof space of the three-storey building.
About 60 firefighters are still working to extinguish the flames.
But fortunately, firefighters managed to successfully save a small dog from one of the units.
They’ve been unable to find the owners but the small pup is happily being looked after by firefighters until the owners are identified.
