A terminally ill cancer patient is urging Australians to join the campaign to legalise voluntary assisted dying.

Dying with dignity advocate Tanya Battel is calling for people to make submissions to an inquiry into legalising euthanasia.

The Queensland government launched the inquiry in November last year, and has opened submissions to all Australians.

Tanya, who has been battling breast cancer for the last 20 years, tells Alan Jones the issue touches countless families across the country.

“I have a lot of people write to me and share stories… people share the most heartbreaking stories and I’ve experienced that with my own parents too.”
