‘No hope in hell’: Julie Bishop couldn’t have beaten Labor, says Peta Credlin
Julie Bishop couldn’t have beaten Bill Shorten in the federal election, says political commentator Peta Credlin.
In an interview with WA’s The Sunday Times, Ms Bishop said the Coalition would win the upcoming election if she was the leader of the Liberal Party.
But Peta Credlin says she would have “no hope in hell” of beating Labor if she can’t even gain the support of her own party.
“She dragged out eight votes from her colleagues who know her best. That is telling.”
Former Labor Senator Graham Richardson agrees, telling Ben Fordham she’d have been “pretty easy meat”.
“I don’t think she’s gotten over it… I think she’s sulking, and if you’re sulking it’s time to go.”
