Mark Latham says ‘taxpayers would be horrified’ at parliamentary sitting calendar
Mark Latham is outraged at the NSW Legislative Council sitting calendar for 2019.
The Legislative Council sat for 48 days last year but the new council is expected to meet for only 35 days this year.
Mr Latham won a seat in the NSW Upper House for One Nation during the election.
He tells Ben Fordham he will move to increase the number of days the council will sit.
“It’s a pretty light schedule… they’re kidding, aren’t they?
“The taxpayers would be horrified.
“You would have thought after an extensive election campaign… the government would be keen for a full legislative schedule.”
