Clive Palmer announces preference deal with the Coalition
Clive Palmer has announced the United Australia Party will preference the Coalition in the federal election.
Mr Palmer has called the Labor Party “two-faced liars” who repeatedly tried to negotiate a preference deal with him.
The Coalition has previously been criticised for its promise to preference Pauline Hanson’s One Nation below Labor.
Former Labor senator Graham Richardson tells Ben Fordham, they shouldn’t be making deals with Clive Palmer.
“There’s no question that this guy is a nasty piece of work.
“I don’t think any amount of money, in the end, can mask that.”
But political commentator Peta Credlin says Mr Palmer was the better option.
“I’m no fan of Clive, but he’s a least worse example when you look at the Greens.
“It’s better to sit down at the table with Clive Palmer than get into bed with Labor.”
