Much-loved media personality Ita Buttrose is raising awareness about a disease affecting those closest to her.

Macular Degeneration is an eye disease which causes loss of vision and it is one which runs in her family.

As a patron of the Macular Disease Foundation, Ita Buttrose encourages everyone to get tested every two years.

“It does run in families, and if it does, that puts you at a higher risk.

“Get your macula checked… because it’s so high in our family, I do it every year.”
