A six-year-old boy has acted incredibly bravely when he woke to find a snake in his bed on Monday night.

Ben Gorman knew exactly what to do when a metre-long slaty-grey snake found its way into his family’s home in Darwin.

He tells Ben Fordham about the moment he realised what had woken him up at 4am.

“I felt it, then I thought it was my monkey, but it wasn’t. It saw a silver thing, then I kind of ripped it off.

“Then I still saw the silver thing, then I threw it at the window!

“I thought it was my teddy monkey, but it was a snake.”
