Derryn Hinch: ‘Greedy’ MPs pocketing allowances
Ex-senator Derryn Hinch has accused his former colleagues of misusing money that is supposed to be spent on their electorate.
Federal MPs are given access to up to tens of thousands of dollars for expenses such as travel and local electorate duties.
The money is deposited directly into their accounts and they aren’t required to prove the money was spent appropriately.
Former Justice Party senator and host of Hinch on Sky News Derryn Hinch tells Ben Fordham he believes some MPs simply pocket the money.
“I can’t believe how people, it’s called greed I suppose, can fall over small amounts of money.”
