A Senate inquiry will be held into Christopher Pyne and Julie Bishop’s new jobs over allegations they breached ministerial standards.

The pair have been accused of using the knowledge they would have gained as ministers in new private sector roles.

The current federal ministerial standards outline that ministers should not use information they have obtained in office for private gain.

Mr Pyne will work for a consulting firm in the defence sector, while Ms Bishop will sit on the board of Palladium, which holds several Government contracts.

An official review published on Monday morning found the two had been cleared of wrongdoing but the Senate will challenge these findings.

Peta Credlin tells Ben Fordham she doesn’t agree with Christopher Pyne’s new appointment.

“I don’t think that it passes the pub test or any other test… it’s wrong.”

But former Labor senator Graham Richardson says there is too much focus on their jobs.

“We shouldn’t get too carried away by these things.

“I’m not offended by what these people have done.”
