Opposition warns Australians are ‘poorer’ under Liberal government
MP Dr Andrew Leigh warns the average Australian’s quality of life has decreased over the past several years.
The latest Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey revealed the amount of people living below the relative poverty line has increased from 9.6% to 10.4% in 2017.
Shadow Assistant Minister for Treasury Dr Andrew Leigh tells Ross Greenwood the Australian way of life has been on the decline since the Abbott government.
“Since the Liberal’s have come to office the typical Australian household’s gotten poorer.
“Productivity has been mediocre… running at a tenth of its historical rates.”
