Clive Palmer reaches settlement in Queensland Nickel lawsuit
Clive Palmer has struck a deal over unpaid workers entitlements as part of a lawsuit over the collapse of Queensland Nickel.
The billionaire reached a settlement with special-purpose liquidators which means the $200 million lawsuit could be coming to an end.
Reports suggest the deal will see the full re-payment of $74 million paid by the Commonwealth to workers.
Former Liberal member Ewen Jones tells Ross Greenwood the reaction has been of “ambivalence”.
“What the people of Townsville are saying right now is thank God that Scott Morrison and Malcolm Turnbull didn’t let up.
“They never let Clive Palmer and they never let Queensland Nickel get away with anything.”
