Noah’s Ark style plan to solve upcoming fish Armageddon
The state government is hoping a Noah’s Ark style plan will help prevent an upcoming horror summer of fish skills.
The $10 million plan plans to rescue as many fish as possible and house them elsewhere as the drought drags on.
Agriculture Minister Adam Marshall tells Ben Fordham unless significant rain falls in the bush over the next month, NSW will be in for a horror summer of fish deaths.
“We are in really unchartered territory with the summer we’ve got ahead. We’ve got even less water in our river systems than we had last summer when we saw over a million fish die.
“Unless we take this drastic action of essentially rescuing and saving as many of the native fish species as we can across every part of the river systems… we will be facing an ecological disaster.”
