Sydney baseball coach arrested over 20+ years of child abuse
A former sports coach who allegedly filmed himself abusing young boys over the course of three decades has been arrested.
Five men have come forward, reporting they were physically abused by the man while he coached them at a baseball club on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
The alleged attacks occurred between 1994 and 2017 when the boys were aged between nine and 20-years-old.
The man allegedly attacked the boys at sporting facilities across the Northern Beaches and is accused of filming further abuse during private lessons with the young players.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 70-year-old man at a Sanctuary Point home on the NSW South Coast yesterday morning.
Investigators raided the property seizing video tapes, electronic storage devices and several other items.
The former coach has been charged with 16 counts of common assault, producing child abuse material, producing child pornography and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He’s been refused bail to appear in court today.
