Alan Jones wins a major victory for the Gold Coast

A controversial new Gold Coast music festival will be relocated after Alan Jones campaigned on behalf of concerned residents.

The two-day SandTunes music festival was due to take place on Coolangatta Beach in late November, despite major concerns from locals about the environmental impact it would have on the world-famous beach.

After a significant outcry, including from Alan Jones himself, the festival will now be moved to Metricon Stadium at Carrara.

Alan says it should never have been allowed to take place on the beach.

“Who was the brain dead person that approved it in the first place?”

Currumbin MP Jann Stuckey, who campaigned relentlessly against the festival’s location, is thrilled at the result.

“It ticks all the boxes, they get their festival and we get it off our World Surfing Reserve.”
