Sri Lankan family granted more time in Australia
Lawyers for the Sri Lankan family facing deportation have won an extension of an injunction in the case.
The husband, wife and two daughters have been detained on Christmas Island since last week.
A Federal Court Justice has extended the injunction until 4pm on the 18th of September.

The injunction only applies to two-year-old Tharunicaa but means the entire family won’t be deported for at least another 12 days.
A succession of courts, including the High Court, have repeatedly found the parents and the eldest child are not genuine refugees.
The family settled in the regional Queensland town of Biloela, and have garnered a significant amount of public support.
Despite this, Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton insists he will not use his discretionary powers to grant the family and exemption.
