Peter Dutton backs Gladys Liu after ‘bad day at the office’
Peter Dutton has come out in support of underfire Liberal MP Gladys Liu, saying she just had “a bad day at the office”.
The backbencher has admitted to previously being involved with three organisations with links to the Chinese Communist Party.
The Opposition is demanding the Prime Minister and Ms Liu clarify the situation.
But senior government minister Peter Dutton tells Ray Hadley the attacks are a distraction from Labor’s own problems.
“She had a bad interview, there’s no doubt about that.
“She’s a very decent person so I think the personal attacks on her by the Labor Party at the moment is more about Mr Albanese trying to distract from what’s happening at ICAC in New South Wales than it is about Gladys.
“She’s a new member of Parliament. Everybody has a bad day at the office and that interview was a bad day at the office.
“The personal attacks at the moment are a bit over the top.”
