Thousands of Australians dress up like pirates for a worthy cause
Australians all over the country have donned their best pirate costumes today to raise money to fight childhood cancer.
National ‘Talk Like a Pirate Day’ sees thousands of Aussies dressing up to raise as much money as possible for Childhood Cancer Support Australia.
General Manager of Childhood Cancer Support Australia Helen Crew tells Ben Fordham the money raised will be put to good use.
“We’re raising funds to provide rural and regional families a home.
“So when the children need to come into the Queensland Children’s Hospital and they need to be here for six to 12 months we provide that accommodation.”
