A full-time protester has been booted off Newstart for not fulfilling her obligations.

The activist, who continuously protests the construction of a housing estate near Ipswitch, has had her payments cancelled after she failed to look for work.

Minister for Employment Michaelia Cash tells Steve Price the government will come down hard on those who fail to meet the Newstart requirements.

“As you know, as a government our focus will always be, unashamedly, we make no excuses for this, to get people off welfare and into work.

“Taxpayers themselves expect nothing less.”
