Karl Stefanovic calls for sacking of police officer caught stoning wombat
South Australian Police have launched an investigation into a video of one of their officers throwing rocks at a wombat.
Footage posted to the Wombat Awareness Organisation Facebook page shows the man chasing the wombat down a dirt road and repeatedly throwing rocks at it.
At the end of the video, the wombat falls over and stops moving.
“You killed him, bro,” says the man filming.

South Australian Police have confirmed the man is one of their officers and they are investigating the incident.
But Karl Stefanovic says there’s no need for an inquiry into the incident as the evidence is cut and dry.
“Let’s save some time right here right now because I can hold an inquiry for you.
“This man should be arrested, he should be charged, and he should be kicked off the force.
“He gives the hardworking people on our force a bad name.”
