A toddler has died after being run over in the driveway of a home on the NSW Mid North Coast last night.

Emergency services were called to a property at Taree at 5pm, after a 20-month-old girl was struck by a Holden Rodeo ute.

The little girl was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Manning Rural Referral Hospital, where she tragically died.

The driver of the car was a 24-year-old man, who is related to the toddler. It’s yet to be confirmed what that relationship is.

He’s been taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Officers have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
