Sydney swelters: Safety warnings issued as temperatures soar
Sydney temperatures will soar to 14 degrees above the October average today.
A top of 36 degrees is forecast in the city and in the west, with emergency services issuing health and safety warnings.
We’re being reminded to stay hydrated and not leave children or animals unattended in cars.
Total fire bans have been issued in four regions across the state, but not in Sydney.
Top temperatures:
37° – Singleton
37° – Bourke
37° – Walgett
37° – Brewarrina
The Bureau of Meteorology says coastal regions will experience hotter than normal conditions due to a lack of sea breeze.
