Ray Hadley slams ‘unforgivable’ sentence for paedophile who raped his own daughter
A Queensland father who repeatedly raped his own daughter throughout her childhood will be eligible for parole in less than six years.
The 55-year-old Ipswich man, who can’t be named as it would identify the victim, has been found guilty of inflicting years of sexual violence against the young girl.
His daughter, now 35-years-old, was repeatedly raped from the ages of four to 13.
During the trial, the court heard the father of four was already serving an eight-year sentence for abducting and raping a five-year-old girl in 2010.
Although he was sentenced to a maximum of 17 years for the rape of his daughter, he’ll be eligible for parole in August 2025.
Ray Hadley says the possibility this man could walk free in less than six years is “unforgivable”.
“How can that possibly be? There has to be an appeal by the Attorney-General in Queensland against the inadequate sentence.”
The victim also told the court how her father’s family had completely cut her out of their lives.
“They have tried countless times to get me to drop this case,” she said in a victim impact statement. “When I refused, they abandoned me, told me I am being selfish, ruining their reputation and no longer speak to me.”
Ray says he has a message for the “disgusting” family members.
“What sort of people are you, supporting a paedophile who attacked his own daughter?
“Have a look at yourselves. You disgust me. And you abandon a victim? Your own niece, your cousin?
“Oh, for God’s sake!”

The Ray Hadley Morning Show has received the following statement from the office of Queensland Attorney-General Yvette D’Ath:
“The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions routinely reviews all sentences once matters are finalised and has up to a month to determine whether any appeal of a matter has a reasonable chance of succeeding, and advise the Attorney-General accordingly.”
