Good Samaritans band together in heartwarming convoy for our farmers

A group of Irish construction workers will band together to take dozens of trucks of water to drought-stricken farmers in regional NSW.

The charitable tradies have been gathering support through social media to make the long journey from Sydney to Armidale.

They’re hoping to have 50 trucks, loaded with half a million litres of water, committed by the time the convoy leaves on November 22.

One of the organisers, Chris Murphy, tells Alan Jones the group has been liaising with Armidale’s mayor and Rural Aid coordinators to prioritise the most vulnerable members of the community.

“They’ve got many, many people on suicide watch at the moment.”
