Scott Morrison criticised for taking a holiday as bushfires burn
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been criticised for going on holiday while Australians battle unprecedented bushfires.
It’s Mr Morrison’s first overseas holiday since travelling to Fiji after the May federal election.
He has taken five days to travel with his family but some say he has an obligation to address the bushfire crisis.
The topic has prompted callers to flood the open line with many outraged at his absence while others are equally understanding.
Rita Panahi tells Natalie Peters and Erin Molan the Prime Minister deserves a holiday.
“I understand there are people who are upset that he’s gone… I just think it’s unreasonable and the fires are a state issue.”
