Border communities urged to be patient

Rural News

The border between Victoria and New South Wales will be shut from 11:59 PM Tuesday.

The decision is hoped to stop the spread of Melbourne’s coronavirus outbreak, where 127 new cases have been reported in the past day.

Permits will be available through Services New South Wales, however applications won’t be able to be taken until Tuesday, and could take up to 72 hours to process.

Rural Editor Eddie Summerfield spoke with Victorian Farmers Federation Vice President Emma Germano to find out what it means for agriculture.
