‘Silent disco’ could be key treatment for dementia

This week is Dementia Action Week, and a new possible treatment for dementia could be music to your ears.

Early insights from research underway at the Australian Catholic University suggest that silent discos are the good medicine for the older generations. What’s more, it could lead to a reduction in the use of home psychotropic medications.

Australian company, Moove and Groove, are behind this new silent disco technology, with activities like corridor singalongs, socially-distanced bingo, virtual exercise classes, and streamed religious services.

Founder and chief executive of Moove and Groove, Alison Harrington joins John Stanley to speak on behalf of this innovative treatment.
