One week, zero doses: South-west Sydneysiders shun AstraZeneca amid plea for more jabs
A south-west Sydney doctor’s clinic has received no calls for AstraZeneca vaccine appointments this week, despite COVID cases growing.
Jim Wilson has been encouraging listeners to “forget vaccine snobbery”, but Campbelltown GP Dr Ken McCroary told him misinformation remains a major battle.
“The vaccine is very available” for anyone looking to book in this weekend he said, but still more doses of both are needed.
“Probably half the practices in the area have Astra[Zeneca], and only about a quarter of them have Pfizer.
“We need to somehow get more vaccines, and more practices on board as well.”
