Labor calls on NSW Government to block release of rapist Mohammed Skaf
Labor is calling on Sydney gang rapist Mohammed Skaf to remain behind bans after the NSW government said it would not oppose a decision to free him.
38-year-old Skaf has spent two decades in prison and has been denied parole several times since 2018 when he was first eligible for release.
He’s now likely to be freed on parole within weeks, because the Parole Board wants to ensure he can be monitored in the community over the final part of his sentence.
Shadow attorney-general Michael Daley told Ben Fordham Skaf should not be released.
“I’m calling on the Premier to get on the phone to the chief law officer of the state and tell him to instruct the crown’s solicitors … to say they’ve had a change of heart and now they object to this guy’s release.”
