Young people addicted to vaping in dangerous new craze
E-cigarettes have become popular for recreational use especially in young people
Simon Chapman, Emeritus Professor from Sydney University, told Clinton Maynard that vaping is a dangerous fad.
“It is such a tragedy,” he said.
“Until this thing came along, we got smoking down to the lowest levels among children ever recorded in this country since we began collecting data in the late 70’s.
“The highest rates of vaping are in young people and it is a complete myth that the ones using it are kids that already smoke.”
Professor Chapman said kids as young as 11-years-old are vaping and were sucked in by the different flavours.
“You can get them in lemonade,” he told Clinton Maynard.
“This is not the way we should be treating a drug of addiction.”
