‘No more divided city’: Restrictions relaxed in Sydney’s hotspot areas
Restrictions in Sydney’s COVID hotspots have eased today, bringing the restrictions and rules in line with the rest of Greater Sydney.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced an easing of restrictions for the hotspot areas covering west and south-west Sydney.
Lakemba MP Jihad Dib said he was glad common sense had prevailed.
“The really significant and important thing here is the fact that we don’t have a divided city as much anymore, and that’s the really important step, if for nothing else just the psychological impact that it’s had,” he told Jim Wilson.
He said the easing of restrictions was a “very small light at the end of a very dark tunnel”.
Jim said the vaccination rates in the the Canterbury-Bankstown area was “incredible” with 80 per cent of eligible people who’ve had their first dose.
