Bathurst residents sustain minor injuries as tornado wreaks havoc on homes
Heavy rain, large hailstones and even a tornado have sporadically battered parts of the NSW Central Tablelands.
The Bureau of Meteorology can confirm a #tornado has occurred in the Central West of #NSW early this afternoon.
There are reports of damage to houses, powerlines and trees around the Clear Creek area, north north-east of Bathurst. @NSWSES @nswpolice

NSW SES Central West Acting Deputy Zone Commander Joshua Clark told Jim Wilson the tornado at Meadow Flat near Bathurst destroyed houses, tore roofs off and flung debris into the air.
“It actually started from about south of Bathurst and travelled a distance around 50km.
“Thankfully it’s an area that is not really heavily occupied.
“Unfortunately there has been some minor injuries and one person has been conveyed by NSW Ambulance to hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
