Suspected tornado bears down as hail batters Sydney’s west
A tornado warning for the west of Penrith, heading toward Blacktown, Fairfield and Liverpool, has been lifted.
Bureau of Meteorology spokesperson Jordan Notara told Jim Wilson the “escalating storm situation” was showing signs of tornado activity.
“The signature that we are seeing on the radar are indicative of something that will produce damaging to destructive wind gusts [and] large to giant hail.”
