Innocent victim executed in broad daylight in suspected gangland shooting at Guildford
Two men have been killed in a brazen daylight shooting, with suspected gangland connections, in a suburban western Sydney street.
The victims, believed to be Salim Hamze and father Toufik Hamze, were sitting in a work truck on Osgood St in Guildford when they were shot.

One of the men initially survived the shooting, but despite the best efforts of emergency services later died.
2GB reporter Helene Lambetsos joined Ray Hadley from the scene, describing a very heavy police presence in addition to the ambulance present.
“One of the lines of inquiry I do imagine police will be looking into … is there have been a spate of public shootings in this area.
“One of them, in March, was just 800 metres up the road from where I am now, and that was linked to warring crime families.”

NSW Police State Crime Command Director Detective Chief Superintendent Darren Bennett told Ray while “speculation may be well founded”, police are currently unable to confirm the victims’ identities nor a connection with gangland conflict.
However, the younger man is understood to be the target of the hit job, while the older man was an innocent victim.
“There’s a number of people … in our south-western part of Sydney who are more than happy to solve their problems with violence.
“This gentleman, a 64-year-old man who is now deceased, was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and these people think nothing of executing someone who’s in their way.”
Investigators have found a burnt-out car in Murdock Lane in Guildford, and a third vehicle of interest has been identified.
