Hamilton cast lift the curtain on backstage antics amid post-lockdown comeback
Popular musical Hamilton has returned to the Sydney Lyric Theatre this week after 117 days forced off-stage by COVID-19.
The Sydney cast’s Aaron Burr, Lyndon Watts, Eliza Hamilton, Chloé Zuel and King George III, Brent Hill joined Deborah Knight to share their enthusiasm for the comeback.
“That first performance back was like the biggest adrenaline kick you can imagine,” Mr Hill said.
“The first 50 minutes of the show, it was like being plugged into an electric socket.”
The reopening night was unlike anything Ms Zuel has ever, or likely will ever experience again, she said, combining the rush of an opening night with the “familiarity” of a well-worn production.
“It was really strange, and … I felt like I was floating above my body.”
