‘Zero fear’ in Byron Bay as regional travel resumes
Sydneysiders are surging into the regions to reunite with loved ones, and small businesses are waiting for the tourist dollars to follow.
Despite some residents of regional NSW voicing concerns about the health risks, Byron Bay’s Bay Motel manager Michelle Visser was adamant there is “zero fear” of reopening among Byron Bay business owners.
She told Jim Wilson she’s back to having virtually no vacancy this week; “chock-a-block” until February.
“These little seaside towns, as I’ve said before, are nothing without the tourists.”
