On the back of the TV programme ‘New Gold Mountain’, Michael speaks to Malcolm Drinkwater, Researcher, lecturer, author & owner/curator of History Hill Museum at Hill End, who has extensively documented Australia’s gold rush era in both book & film.

The SBS series supposedly tells the untold story of the Australian gold rush from the perspective of Chinese miners, but Mr Drinkwater shares his knowledge of the real racial and cultural lives and exchanges of the goldfield days.
