Australia pauses in honour of Remembrance Day
The sails of the Opera House have been lit up with projections of red poppies, as veterans and the wider community commemorate Remembrance Day.
Each year on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month Australians pause for one minute’s silence to remember all the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.
NSW RSL President Ray James told Ben Fordham people are encouraged to attend commemorative services across the state.
“In the recent two years where we were in that pandemic situation, where we couldn’t attend a lot of services, it’s changed for today which is really good.”
