The ‘tragic plight’ of children’s music lessons deemed unsafe
Music teachers are pleading for clarity as face-to-face music lessons remain banned in NSW.
Playing the flute or saxophone in school has been deemed unsafe, despite community wind band’s continuing.
Sydney school music instructor Ray Hampton told Ben Fordham his long-time colleagues are resigning because of a lack of support.
“Even though we’ve been raising the questions … we’ve had no response and we don’t have a pathway back.
“Children need to learn face-to-face.”
