Lord Mayor candidate pleads with Premier to guarantee vote for small business
A candidate for the Sydney Lord Mayoralty has called out the incumbent’s failure to secure the rights of small businesses in the city.
Small Business party candidate Angela Vithoulkas labelled Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore as “out of touch” after implementing delivery restrictions on hospitality businesses.
“How many cafes do you reckon in the city are getting their milk deliveries at 8am?”
She told Jim Wilson other candidates want to remove the right of businesses to vote in council elections, and called on NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet to “stand up and fight for us”.
“This could be the last time small businesses ever have a voice.”
Jim Wilson: “What’s the government’s response been?”
Angela Vithoulkas: “Silence. Crickets.”
