Ben Fordham has grilled the Veterans’ Affairs Minister over a memo sent to bureaucrats.

An internal memo sent to staff at the Department of Veterans’ Affairs banned the use of “thank you for your service” in press releases, websites or social media posts.

Veterans’ Affairs Minister Andrew Gee told Ben Fordham he didn’t approve the controversial memo.

“When I became aware of it I told the Department to take it down.

“I think that phrase can be used when it’s appropriate.”

“Have you ever expressed a view to anyone that you’re not a fan of the phrase?” Ben questioned.
