Ben Fordham has accused the National Party of double standards after a drunken incident involving an MP.

Northern Territory MP Sam McMahon allegedly took several swings at the National Party’s Jonathan Hawkes during Christmas drinks on Thursday night.

She has issued an apology that has been accepted by the Party.

“If a boozed-up male MP was swinging punches he’d be gone today,” Ben said.

“If Parliament is fair-dinkum about changing behaviour then the changes have to apply to everyone.”
