Police’s million-dollar gambit to catch ‘callous’ killer crooks
A million-dollar reward is being offered by NSW Police to solve the brutal and deadly bashing of a man in Sydney’s north-west.
86-year-old Kalim Saliba died in hospital after he and his wife were attacked by two men in their Cherrybrook home.
“This was a much-loved and well-known couple in the area,” Ray Hadley said.
Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty told Ray police are still searching for suspects, poring over hundreds of hours of CCTV footage.
Recent information from the public has opened up new lines of inquiry, he confirmed.
“It’s been a very challenging, complex and arduous search, and the investigators involved haven’t given up.
“It’s hard to imagine that anyone would be so callous as to attack an elderly couple in their own home, but that is the main line of inquiry.”
