Self-confessed ‘bird nerd’ Jim Wilson is backing Songs of Disappearance to claim a spot on the ARIA charts this festive season.

The album is a collection of bird calls from Australia’s most threatened species.

BirdLife Australia’s Sean Dooley told Jim the rare birds making their voices heard include the Mukkarthippi grasswren.

“As far as we know, there’s only three or four pairs of them that we’re been able to find.”
