‘No vax, no go’: The businesses standing by ban on unvaccinated patrons
Businesses across the state are standing by their right to refuse entry to the unvaccinated as the government abandons the restriction.
Unvaccinated people are now legally allowed to enter non-essential retailers, hospitality venues and services such as beauty salons and hairdressers.
CEO of Rooty Hill RSL West HQ Richard Errington, however, will continue to keep those without the jab out of his restaurants and the Sydney Coliseum Theatre until at least January 31.
He told Chris O’Keefe he made the bold decision last Thursday after seeing the COVID clusters emerging at several venues in Sydney and beyond, but has since received “horrible emails” from disgruntled patrons.
“The difficulty we have being a prominent venue … was that they see us as a landmark case.”

Celebrity hairdresser Joh Bailey experienced the threat of COVID spread to business firsthand earlier this year, when his Double Bay salon became a venue of significant transmission.
He told Chris he’s making the same call as Mr Errington for his salons.
“We haven’t had one client who isn’t vaccinated yet, even today.
“We’re still QR code-ing in, and our staff are still wearing masks.
“My firm belief is no vax, no go.”
