Police ‘won’t rest’ until all involved in Old Parliament House fire are charged
A fourth person has been charged over last week’s fire at Old Parliament House in Canberra.
It’s alleged the blaze, which destroyed the century-old doors at the front of the building, was deliberately lit.
A 30-year-old man from Victoria is the latest person to be arrested over the incident.
Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews told Chris O’Keefe said she would have loved to see offenders taken into custody earlier.
“But I’m also confident that the police have done the work … to make sure the charges against this particular individual will have the best chance of success when he goes before the court.
“The investigation isn’t over now, … there’s more work to be done.
“They won’t rest until they have actually got all the people who were involved in this.”
