Six arrests following national record drug-bust
Six people have been charged after police seized the largest haul of cannabis in Australia’s history.
More than 19,000 cannabis plants were found in 22 sheds, around 200 metres long, on a property in western New South Wales.
The yield from the plantation is around 11.5 tonnes of cannabis, worth around $67 million.
Detective Superintendent Jason Weinstein told 2GB Drive police hadn’t seen anything like it.
“I think the sheer volume of this is something that we have not seen in Australia,” he said.
“The numbers were staggering.”
